Importance of nuts in daily diet Dry fruits or nuts - a daily dose is a power house of energy. All dry fruits are rich source of Potassium, Iron , folate, calcium, and magnesium. They are high source of vegetarian protein and dietary fiber . They have the highest antioxidants which boost our immunity thus in turn keeping us healthy and free from diseases and other illnesses. Kick start your day with almonds and raisins to boost your energies in the morning. Evening snack to satisfy your hunger pang by taking a mix of walnuts pistachios and cashews . Prunes and dates are good to relieve you of your digestive problems and also help in solving constipation problems.

Chia seeds are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. They’re loaded with fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients. Chia seeds are tiny black seeds from the plant Salvia hispanica, Chia seeds are high in antioxidants too. Almost all of the carbohydrates in chia seeds are fiber. This gives them the ability to absorb 10–12 times their weight in water. Fiber also has various beneficial effects it makes you fuller and helps in good bowl movements and helps in increasing HDL levels. Chia seeds are high in quality protein, much higher than most plant foods. Protein is the most weight loss friendly macronutrient and can drastically reduce appetite and cravings. Given that chia seeds are high in fiber, protein and omega-3s, they may reduce your risk of heart disease. Chia seeds are high in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and protein. All of these nutrients are essential for bone health. Chia seeds are incredibly easy to include into your diet. The seeds themselves taste rather bland, so you can add them to pretty much anything. They can be eaten raw, soaked in juice, added to morning breakfast porridge ,smoothies . You can also sprinkle them on top of cereal, yogurt, vegetables or rice dishes. Because of their ability to absorb both water and fat, they can be used to thicken sauces and as an egg substitutes in recipes. They can also be mixed in water and turned into a gel. A common dosage recommendation is 20 grams of chia seeds, twice per day.

If your creatinine is high Another tip for potassium (K) management is wash your greens( spinach / methi) in warm water and then scald through boiling water . And then use for cooking. This also leads to leaching of vitamins so then you need to take a vitamin supplement by recommendation of your nephrologist .
